Summer Reading

Summer Reading List 2017-2018

Dear Parents:

Summer reading lists and assignments are now available. Books on each grade’s list are listed generally from easier reading levels to more difficult, yet all are appropriate for the age. We encourage you to keep this list for reference for good books to read throughout the school year. What a wonderful goal it would be for your child to read most of them by this time next year!

On the CCS website, you’ll find Summer Reading. Within that, select the grade your child will be entering in the fall of 2017. Print the Summer Reading Book List, and print the Assignment. All students read two books and complete an assignment for each book. Elementary students will be able to take Reading Counts tests on books from the lists when they return in the fall. All summer reading assignments should be turned in the first day of school.
We encourage you to select a book as your “summer reading” so your child sees you enjoying reading, as well. It can be a memorable time for you together.
Happy Reading!
