PILLAR II: PROVIDENCE
Philosophers of antiquity and prolific authors who have written about the human condition have attempted to explain and capture the tension between the actions of individuals, acts of nature, and actions of civil governments and what appears to be an invisible guiding force behind these acts. Deists perceive that God created the world, set it in motion, and has withdrawn from the world. Others think that there is an invisible, impersonal force is often called fate, destiny, or luck.
Christians believe that the Creator God personally directs, governs, and orders His world. Christianity has called this attribute of God, His providence. Providence is the wisdom, guidance, and care provided by God. While creation suffers from the consequences of the Fall, God has a plan and purpose for creation and humans that He is guiding.
CCS strives to teach students that God is in control of life, has a purpose and plan for life, and is involved in the history of the world.
