CCS Middle School
participates in a
Partnership with Belhaven University
in Fine Arts.
Belhaven University guides middle school instruction at CCS in both music and theater. Biblical worldview, excellent teaching, and wonderful experiences are in store for our students participating in fine arts.
Two class periods a day are elective-oriented for students in middle school and are designed around a trimester system. During 6th period CCS offers the Fine Arts block: Theater, Visual Arts, and Music will each be taught in its own trimester. During 7th period CCS offers the Athletics block: Fall sports, Winter sports, and Spring sports each in their own trimester. During both 6th and 7th periods, students are also able to choose study hall, resource, or computer lab courses in keyboarding or foreign language.
Fine Arts in middle school is coordinated by our own resident artist, Mr. Nate Carroll, who oversees the program and teaches the visual arts trimester. Theater and music are guided by Belhaven faculty, and their plans for our students are amazing! Everything from costumes to sets to vocal coaching, all with a Biblical worldview, makes this program more than we could have asked or imagined.
As one of 30 institutions in the nation accredited in all four areas of the arts - visual art, music, theater, and dance - Belhaven competes at the highest level in the arts with some of the top schools in the nation. We hope your Middle School student will look forward to this exciting opportunity!
